Golang Job: Software Engineer

deltaflare is a technology company with deep roots in the Critical National Infrastructure. We provide a cyber security platform that enables critical operational assets to digitally transform and adopt Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions. The future will see extensive digital technologies and hardware deployment to deliver the right combination of security, manageability, reliability, and flexibility in the infrastructure.

Accelerated by hyper-connectivity, the industry faces significant opportunities for using infrastructure smarter; however, that also institutes a complex set of incessant cyber risks.

You will be working in a team of multidisciplinary experts with deep roots in the utility industry. Our platform, Phoenix, will deliver step change in the industry to provide security and connectivity to deliver value directly and via other business partnerships.

We have secured a number of high-visibility projects over the next 3 years that will move us closer to our mission. We are therefore looking for the following.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and requirements for software

• Oversight and approval of all final programs and products before formal launch

• Oversee and support the coaching and training of team members to ensure all necessary employees are confident in the use of software applications

• Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions

• Prepare an easy to understand report for supervisors detailing achieved milestones and short-term project goals

• Use a proactive approach to common challenges and by continually researching best practices in coding

• Ensure software security by developing programs to actively monitor the sharing of private information

• Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace

Qualifications and experience

• Enthusiasm to work hard and to learn new skills.

• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing software applications

• Sound knowledge of computer science fundamentals and software engineering principles to apply to challenges.

• Very experienced working on backend development using C, C++, Golang, or Rust.

• Direct experience of Golang is a bonus.

• Experience of containerisation and use of Docker.

• Experience of Kubernetes and cloud deployment is a bonus.

• Design-driven and test-led software development experience and mindset

• Experience working on large-scale software projects

• Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity and open source technologies

• Outstanding collaboration and communication skill are essential

• Experience overseeing customised development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously

• Professional experience analysing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them

• Experience designing secure software systems based upon industry-specific specification

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £55,000.00-£70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
